Here we go! Observations and midterms and conferences, oh my! What was I thinking? Of course, a week ago I was riding high after representing my school with a small task force to the EDISA convention in Phoenix. Last week I had three really good days, one really bad one, and one so-so day. It turns out I'm a perfectionist. I want good days all the time. I know this is not a realistic goal, however. Today, for my first blog entry, I will share two things I'm proud of and two things to improve. I'm proud of this- my classroom. I'm not a decorator. At all. My writing isn't (usually) very neat. Yet, somehow I pulled this together. I'm also proud of the fact that I have developed a strong, positive relationship with my students. I love them all, and they love me. We have fun together. One thing I would like to improve is my knowledge of the curriculum and implementation of it. There are so many details on my plate, but I know this needs to be a very high priority. I have made great strides in classroom management, but there is certainly room for improvement there as well. I need to find the right balance between keeping it positive while holding kids responsible for rule breaking.

  1. Hi Holly! I think we all must be a little bit of a perfectionist!! I'd love all good days, too!

You're classroom looks great! I wish I had a 360 camera to see the rest! I'm sure it looks just as great. Those positive relationships that you describe will serve you well! It's so important that your kids know that you love them. They'll move mountains for you. Continue with your great work. Your kids are lucky to have you leading them.
